Developed coding standards, and set up general coding utilities. Lead developer and designer for Service Contracts renewal process including Auto Renewals, Approvals Workflow, and custom Workflow Notification Response processor.

Design and Development of a configurable, World-Wide implementation of automated Supplier payment system compatible 10 banks across 57 countries using 38 payment methods local and international. This solution reduced payment charges by $2M per year, and allowed re-allocatoon of 5 FTEs.
Designed and implemented new coding standards, along with standardized development coding utilities.
Functional/technical consultant on business process for Oracle 11.5.9 of the Oracle Business systems. Developed and performed Contract and Installed base migration from SAP system to Oracle Developing business process improvements for Order Management, Receivables, and Contracts.
Functional/technical consultant for Good Technology on business process improvements through an upgrade from 11.5.4 to 11.5.9 of the Oracle Business systems. These improvements include Automating Item entry to Orders using the Custom PLL, Creating new Order Workflows, to create custom Workflow and email Notifications to sales and credit management. Through this project Alastair was heavily involved in the complete Order to Cash life-cycle and the Contracts, Service and Installed Base processes.
Receivables process improvements, including revised Revenue Recognition process, and Consolidated billing.

Technical consultant for Xilinx on their Oracle 11i worldwide rollout. In this role Alastair worked on several business functions including Receivables, Purchasing, HR, Inventory and Order Management. He was also involved in the integration of internal systems with the Oracle Applications Suite.

As Customer Transition Manager, Alastair’s responsibilities started in the sales cycle to bring assurance to potential customers that we could bring them to a live state efficiently and effectively with minimal disruption. His responsibilities included analyzing system architectures and requirements, mapping those to the Avasta infrastructure offerings, and manage the migration of the systems from their current place to Avasta.
While with Avasta, Alastair was also responsible for the implementation of Oracle Financials OM, AR, GL, INV, PO, AP, and CRM to be used for running the Finance and Response Center functions of the business. He was a key contributor in all facets of the business, and helped Avasta grow from a 10 person company to 120.

Alastair was the project lead and designer for a custom add on to the Oracle HR system. The system was to manage the annual review process, facilitating Salary and Stock grants, and Promotions. It included notifications to those concerned when activity is required, and allowed on-line processing, to replace the previous Excel based system.
Alastair was a Technical Lead for Rel 11 Implementation project. His main roll was to design and build the Data Conversion process for Open Receivable, and Open Unrecognized Revenue information from the legacy TOLAS VAX based system.
Alastair was the Technical Lead for Aspect’s 10.7 upgrade project, acting as the architect for the implementation, the designer of custom solutions, and as the lead for a team of 7 developers. He was the technical advisor for the European rollout planning phase. Alastair trained Aspect staff in many facets of Oracle development including; PL/SQL Coding , Performance Tuning, Forms Coding, Database Sizing, Coding Standards and Techniques, and Requirements/Design Specification Writing. Projects included AR process improvements for Revenue Recognition for event based revenue recognition, billing, and collections.
Alastair joined Netscape to act as a technical consultant, to design and develop extensions to the Oracle Receivables and Purchasing packages. He was also responsible for the implementation of Oracle Alerts, and the training of Netscape staff in the use of Oracle Alert, PRO*C and Performance Tuning.
Alastair’s position at Tandem was as a technical Consultant for the development of custom systems and in the implementation of Oracle Financials packages. He was the lead technical architect for the 10.7 upgrade and the lead designer and developer for a world wide data distribution and warehousing system to maintain key MIS data from a central repository across 6 sites worldwide.
